The existential crisis of rebranding...
Woof. Rebranding. Was a whooole existential crisis for me this year.

I didn't realize until I was all-in on the branding package that I wanted to change my business name. This was by far the most difficult part.
How do you define your business, your life, everything you stand for in a NAME?
How do I take the 900 different things I teach and guide people through, how do I take my whole damn purpose and every way in which I'd like to change the world, and just stick it into one freaking NAME?
My business was called Ditch The 9-5. I helped people start businesses - establish time, location, and financial freedom - because I had done it myself. Because it changed my life. Because people always asked how I did it. Because I knew everyone had this opportunity at their fingertips, and I wanted them to realize what I had realized…
That you can live your life however the fuck YOU want to.
That work extended into so many other areas. Starting a business uproots your life. It brings things to the surface you hadn't expected - in relationships, family, money, your whole damn identity.
The clients I drew in needed mindset help more than anything. Mindset work led to much deeper stuff - shadow work, changing family patterns, healing ancestral wounds. Spiritual clients needed spiritual guidance. Women who were taught to support others in power needed help stepping into their own power. Clients who came from poverty had to do deep money mindset work. Moms needed help momming through it all.
I held space for tears, painful memories, and integration. I held space for celebration and ascension.
We weren’t just building businesses.
We were deconstructing and rebuilding PEOPLE.
So I developed this whole repertoire of topics and tools over the years, and I had a hard time connecting them all under one umbrella, into one name.
After a few months of my brand strategist sticking it out with no decision from me on a name, I went to Em Shanell because she's the WIZARD of clarity.
She always points back to the root of it all - "what do you want?"
We had talked about my purpose in bringing more freedom & sovereignty to the world and the humans in it. So she asked what the difference between those two terms are - what do they mean to me?
Here's what came out, and here's how I finally found the name:
FREEDOM is something I desire, deep down to my core. It feels like a NEED, the way we need air to breathe. It's in every area of my chart, it's been prevalent in my thoughts, words, and actions for my entire life.
I cannot fully step into what I truly believe freedom to be until those around me establish SOVEREIGNTY.
Enter: The Sovereign Soul.
Sovereignty is traditionally about power & authority on a political/state level. We’re flipping the script. True sovereignty reflects the truth of oneself. It’s about authority over your life via radical self awareness and autonomous choice. It’s about taking ownership over ALL of the choices we make.
It’s about stepping the fuck up into your power & your purpose, owning what you’re meant to do and deciding to DO it. Owning what you desire and going to GET it.
It’s taking the reins of your life. It’s releasing programming that tells you how you SHOULD do things and doing what feels true for YOU.
What would change in your life if you didn’t need validation or permission from others? If you believed in yourself and ALL possibilities?
What would change into your life if you stood up for your desires, instead of moving day-to-day through a life that’s been inherited from others?
This is not the time to sit by and allow things to pass. This is not the time to hope for change.
This is the time for YOU to change what you actually have control over, and as you do that, the world rises with you.
This is the work the world NEEDS you to do right now.
